And that is not very sustainable. So we need to step up and find our inner activist.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some words of wisdom:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hannah Arendt<\/strong> advocates <strong>civil disobedience<\/strong> when the politicians don\u2019t deliver. Change comes from the people. She also celebrates our differences: we should listen to us all and find solutions together.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bruno Latour<\/strong> agrees, and shows us the importance of the collective. By sharing our thought and beliefs we <strong>compose a collective<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In this sharing it is important not to be a stuck militant (having fixed ideas of what is good and true) but to be an activist: <strong>move with the collective<\/strong> towards change.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this blog <em>(soon available as a zine)<\/em> I give an unpretentious and biased overview of the archetypes of activists. I hope you see yourself or what you want to be. It is not science, <strong>it is fun and shows cats<\/strong>. Problems are too big to solve, sleeping is <strong>more productive<\/strong>. Good for your cats, and good against capitalism. But the lazyvist contributes little to change and that might be <strong>talent wasted<\/strong>. Please find your inner fire and step up to the level of the clicktivist and take it from there. <strong>You can be lazy when you are dead!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The clicktivist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 1<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"581\" height=\"686\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/clicktivist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/clicktivist.png 581w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/clicktivist-254x300.png 254w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clicktivists are hard wired into the online world. They <strong>like<\/strong>, <strong>share<\/strong> and <strong>reply <\/strong>on all important topics. A fundraiser for an uninsured ill person: share! Famous person preaching sustainability: like! Political outrage: affirm! Sadly clicktivism can be <strong>counterproductive<\/strong>: people who only ever click are not likely to become active in the real world. So <strong>kick the cat from your lap<\/strong> get outdoors. And share online of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The shytivist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"457\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shytivist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shytivist.png 457w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shytivist-300x255.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 457px) 100vw, 457px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shytivists are the <strong>true heros<\/strong>. Even though they are not at ease on the barricades they share their opinions in public anyway. <em>(Secretly popping an Alprazolam.)<\/em> They represent the <strong>no longer silent majority<\/strong>. Scream! Even if your voice is only a whisper. Hannah Arendt would be proud. Shytivsits are often also artivists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The intellectivist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"532\" height=\"619\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/intellectivist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/intellectivist.png 532w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/intellectivist-258x300.png 258w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 532px) 100vw, 532px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Intellectivists know it all. They follow all the important blogs and are on top of all international newspapers. Their knowledge is constantly fed with all the important <strong>To Read Now books<\/strong>. They might be a bit <strong>(wo)mansplainish<\/strong> but they mean well. They like the <strong>comfort of the discussion<\/strong>, to make actual change they need to team up with other activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The crazyvist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 3<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"594\" height=\"739\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/crazyvist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/crazyvist.png 594w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/crazyvist-241x300.png 241w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crazyvists are unruly projectiles. Their exploding emotions confront like a shockwave. Crying, confused, angry: they hit us where it hurts. The crazyvist <strong>carries on no matter what<\/strong>. They show the <strong>courage<\/strong> and also the <strong>pain<\/strong>. Other activists should embrace them and listen to what they say.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The punktivist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 4<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"488\" height=\"648\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/punktivist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/punktivist.png 488w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/punktivist-226x300.png 226w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Punktivists has a taste for provocation. Loud! Angry! But are also <strong>gentle souls<\/strong>. They speak for the silent and vulnerable. Their style is not always the best political glue, but their <strong>sincerity is above and beyond<\/strong>. Many punktivists ara also artivists. Might become a policyvist when growing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The discovist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 4<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"535\" height=\"633\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/discovist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/discovist.png 535w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/discovist-254x300.png 254w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 535px) 100vw, 535px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For discovists life is a party. And making change should be a party too. <strong>Why not look great while saving the world!<\/strong> Dancing at (benefit) parties is the best activism they know. Happy future! They create stuff to tell the story of a better future. Hacks, comics, zines, posters, poetry, theatre, songs, stories, websites, slogans; they make <strong>the fuel for our hearts and souls<\/strong>. Often have cats and plants as colleagues. Can be shytivist too, but also discovist or punktivist, depending on personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The practivist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Score: 5<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"369\" height=\"503\" src=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/practivist.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/practivist.png 369w, https:\/\/goedmaken.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/practivist-220x300.png 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Practivists <strong>make it real<\/strong>. They build the mesh network, they host the knitting club. They mix the glue that goes with the posters and fix your bike. They do the (research) journalism. They build our EU hosted software and know a good pie recipe. Knowledge and facts must always be at the heart of every discussion or plan. <strong>To know = to change<\/strong>. They are crucial in an activist team! Go well with policyvists. With <strong>great gusto<\/strong> they roll around in the <strong>political mud<\/strong>. Change takes time, hard work and crazy optimism, and they are here for just that!
